ICT Patterns and Machining

The process to quality castings begins with quality patterns and core boxes. Innovative Castings proudly makes 100% of our patterns and core boxes in-house. Critical engineering, modeling and CNC machining are involved in the process of making patterns and core boxes for production castings and prototypes.

ICT uses CAD software that allows us to create models and secondary tooling in the shortest amount of time possible. As a company that is commonly asked to provide quick turnaround of complex parts (e.g. six-port exhaust manifolds), state-of-the art software helps to meet these deadlines. These tools save hours in pattern making and are essential, especially for prototype parts. After prototypes are approved, any changes can easily be transferred to the file.

Your casting is only as good as the pattern that was made to produce it, which is why Innovative Castings has the in-house engineering expertise along with state-of-the art CNC technology to produce the most accurate and long lasting patterns. Quality pattern making provides years of repeatable, accurate and quality castings.

“Our mechanical and thermal reclaim systems ensure 100% Sand Reclamation. This provides economic and environmental benefits as no sand leaves our foundry for the landfill. This reduces waste, disposal, and transportation costs. Casting quality is also improved as reclaimed sand produces strong molds and cores.”

“Our 3D metal printer is an AM technology that is revolutionizing the prototyping world especially in transportation and medical industries because part weight can be reduced significantly. Conformal cooling is another key advantage of 3D metal printing as it gives the mold maker the ability to add water cooling lines in tight spots and follow very complex contours.”
